Alpine Skiing
After a 2nd place finish at sections, finishing in 59.16, Henry Giles ’24 represented SPA at the State Alpine meet on February 14 at Giants Ridge for the third year in a row! Congratulations, Henry!

Boys’ Basketball
Spartan basketball received the #3 seed in Section 4AA and defeated the #6 seed, St. Croix Lutheran Academy in the opening round on Saturday, March 11. In the semifinals on March 14, SPA fell to a talented Concordia Academy team, 80-72.

Girls’ Basketball
Girls’ basketball received the #12 seed and defeated the #13 seed, Math and Science Academy on Tuesday, February 28 in the opening round of Section 4AA competition. In the second round, SPA fell to a talented St. Croix Preparatory Academy team.

Boys’ Hockey
Spartan hockey received the #4 seed in Section 4A and defeated the #5 seed, Highland Park 5-2 in quarterfinal action on Friday, February 24. In the semifinals, SPA fell to a talented Mahtomedi squad 9-1.

Girls’ Hockey
Girls’ hockey received the #3 seed in Section 3AA and were matched up against the #6 seed in Eastview. In a tough contest, the Pheonix fell 2-1 in the opening round of the section tournament. Off of the ice, our girls’ hockey program was named the Section 3AA Academic Champions with a cumulative team GPA of 3.76.

Nordic Skiing
The girls’ Nordic team had a strong showing at the State meet on February 15-16. The sprint team of Helen Townley ’25 and Maren Overgaard ’26 came in second and in the individual pursuit competition, finishers included Inga Wing ’25 (25th), Taylor Barkwell ’25 (42nd), Paloma Good ’27 (62nd), Alyda Overgaard ’28 (77th), and Eleanor Mody ’27 (105th). Congratulations to the entire team on a great season!

The Minnesota High School Fencing Championships took place on Saturday, February 25, and Sunday, February 26 at Blake High School. Congratulations to our fencers on a great season!
